“When You’re So Short Staffed You Put The Office Cat To Work…”

Bob is a cat with a vital job. He is the Office Morale Director at a veterinary clinic (also known as the office cat). His duties and responsibilities include greeting patients and staff, providing comic relief, and playing. Another line on his list of D & R says, “Other duties, as assigned.” That leaves staff some leeway on days when they need help that doesn’t usually fit within Bob’s job description. That is how Bob got stuck in the file room, living a nightmare of alphabetized folders.

Poor Bob. The job is difficult enough when you can read. It is nearly impossible for Bob because he can’t read and has no opposable thumbs. This isn’t the first time Bob has had additional duties. One day, his assignment was to assist in the mailroom. That didn’t end well.

If he’s not making us laugh, he’s showing us how smart he is. The entertainment is endless. 🤣 #bob #officecat #vetmed #cats #mischief

Bob has been working at the clinic since he was a tiny tyke. In an introductory video, he is a baby weighing only 8.2 pounds. The voice-over says he went from a size 10 to a size 20 in one year. The cause of the rapid growth was food consumption. As he grew and learned the nuances of his job as an office cat, he moved up the ladder, advancing to his current position.

Bob always picks up the slack as the vet clinic takes care of animals throughout the day. He can act as an assistant in the exam room. Although he was getting a Milk Bone treat for a dog patient, Bob insisted on testing one first. The office cat was unimpressed.

It takes a special animal to be an office cat. Bob has learned well.
