One social media user caught the most precious footage of the creature swimming along with her “toy” in tow. As the manatee floated past the camera, holding her precious log between her flippers, it almost seemed like she wanted guests to admire the item.

“He really wanted to show off his log,” wrote the social media user, not realizing the manatee was a female.

In her caption, the woman added, “Everyone who was there was cracking up.”

This animal seems to have mastered the art of swimming with one flipper so that she doesn’t have to let go of her most prized possession. At the beginning of the clip, the manatee was using one limb to propel herself forward while clinging to her log with the other. She must really love that chunk of wood!

Meet Ayurami, the manatee whose favorite toy is a log.

On Facebook, the Dallas World Aquarium shared an adorable, close-up picture of the manatee holding her log. In the comments section, they shared a little more information about this lovable aquatic mammal and her comfort item. Apparently, this animal’s name is Ayurami (pronounced Ajurami), and she comes from a rescue center in Peru. As for the piece of wood, it’s “simply a log that she has become quite attached to over the years and constantly cuddles.” Isn’t that adorable?

It’s worth noting that this Facebook post is from two years ago, while the video above is from earlier this year. That means that Ayurami the manatee has been carrying her favorite log around for quite a while! It’s so sweet that, after all this time, she still finds so much joy in this random object.
