Simone Biles Broke Down And “Released All” Her Emotions After Her Final Olympic Event

Simone Biles

From the moment Simone Biles walked into the gym during the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris, she captivated us. First, she led the Americans to gold in the team all-around finals.

Then, Simone secured two more gold medals for herself and a silver. Those wins made her the most decorated gymnast in American history, and she was truly a pleasure to watch.

But when it was all over on August 5, and the adrenaline finally wore off, Simone had a pretty emotional breakdown. In an interview with the Today Show in Paris, she explained that she and teammate Jordan Chiles made it back to the Olympic Village after the women’s individual floor routine final where Simone placed second and Jordan placed third, and she began to cry.

“Yesterday when we got back to the village, I looked at Jordan, and I started balling my eyes out,” Simone admitted. “She was like, ‘I knew it was going to happen, I just didn’t know when.’ I was just so full of emotion. And I finally released all of that.”

Simone said she wasn’t sad but overwhelmed and grateful about what happened in Paris.

“I was so proud, happy, and bittersweet that the journey is over,” she added. “It’s so crazy, it happened so quick. My third Olympics.”

Simone Biles Isn’t Ruling Out A Fourth Olympic Appearance

It’s unclear what will happen in the next few years for the Olympian, who, at age 27, is considered on the older end for gymnasts. If she were to make a comeback in Los Angeles in 2028, she’d be 31. But Simone Biles hasn’t made any decisions just yet.

“You know, you never say never,” she shared. The next Olympics is on home turf, in Los Angeles, so you just never know.”

She added, “I’m just going to relax and see where life takes me.”

Simone, no matter what you choose, we are here to support you and continuing cheering you on.
