Singer Performs At Senior Care Facility & Resident Joins With “Happiest” Dance

Dance Senior Care

With age comes wisdom, but many of us also start to slow down. Our loved ones may not be able to live independently as they grow older, so moving into a senior care facility might be the best option.

Without our senior citizens, none of us would even be here, so it’s important that we show them love and compassion as they grow older. When our loved ones live in a senior care facility, we hope the staff will be kind and engaging and help them enjoy every minute of their lives. Special people like George Papakyriacou from Musical Playground for Kids help make that happen.

Temple Croft Care Home, a senior care facility in the United Kingdom, recently posted a video to its TikTok page of George and a resident singing and dancing with the caption, “We love when George comes to sing to us, what a lovely afternoon we have had.”

George plays his guitar and dances to a lively room filled with seniors who clearly enjoy his music. Nursing home scenes can sometimes seem sad or daunting, but this video is quite uplifting.

TikTokers Loved George And His Dancing Partner

One person wrote, “This has made my heart so happy. I’m crying happy tears. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.”

This person envied George’s talent. “I wish I could play guitar and sing for this reason,” they wrote. “Look how happy he has made them. That’s worth more than any amount of money in your pocket … fair play to him the heaven gates are well open for him.”

Someone pointed out, “This is how it should be….in my nan’s care home they played Radio 1 for the staff. None of the residents knew any of the songs.”

Temple Care responded, “Everything we do [is] all about our residents it’s their home. We just work in it making them happy is what we love to do.”

Thank you, George, for putting a smile on our faces today. We hope to see you singing and dancing again soon.
