One young woman proved that language barriers can’t stop friendship from blossoming in the sweetest story. While taking in the glorious view at the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland, Anna Barger noticed another traveler taking selfies. She walked up to the other woman and asked if she needed someone to take the picture for her. However, it turned out that she only spoke Chinese. Regardless, the two women still found ways to communicate!

Anna had taken a little bit of Chinese in school, so she knew a few words. She understood when the other woman said “thank you,” and she was able to respond with “you’re welcome.” Most of their conversation took place through body language and gestures, though.

Kindness is also something that transcends any language barrier, as this wholesome story illustrates. After Anna took a photo for her new friend, the other traveler responded with a lovely deed of her own. She reached into her bag and produced a delicious packaged cookie! Anna was getting hungry at that point, so she was grateful for the snack.

“Her outfit was really good,” Anna added in her clip. “I hope she liked the picture.”
