Cats can be unpredictable. When you take them to a cat show, the judges are prepared for almost anything. When the owner of SilkySmoothSphynxCats took two of her young hairless kittens to their first show, one judge got a special bribe. The young cat, named Ice cream, tried to sway the judge’s decision by applying a little love magic.

The video shows the young Sphynx getting very friendly with the judge. The cat show sponsor is the Cat Fancier’s Association (CFA). While the judge did her best to remain impartial and not show any return affection, it was difficult. In the TikTok comments, many were jokingly commenting that Ice Cream was cheating. A few shouted “Corruption!!”
Under the above video, posted by another attendee, SilkySmoothSphynxCats saw the post and identified her cuddly baby.

Hairless cats are a relatively new breed within the cat show arena. The first hairless cat was born in Toronto, Canada, in 1966, to a normal domestic cat. A recessive gene causes the animal‘s hairless appearance. The breed was developed over the next 30 years and is the first Canadian cat breed. The CFA accepted the breed for registration in 1998, and acknowledged it for Championship status in 2002.
Beyond Cat Shows, Sphynx Are A People-Loving Breed
Hairless cats have people-loving personalities, so this is pretty normal behavior for the breed. With an almost alien look, the ears are extremely large for the sleek head and slender neck. The feel of its skin is almost suede-like. They sport large, lemon-shaped eyes that convey an unspoken wisdom of ages.
Sphynx are not shy. They are affectionate, intelligent, and curious. If you want a quiet cat, get a different breed as this one is a talker. Because they aren’t wearing fur coats, they tend to be body heat magnets and are very clingy. They do not fare well as only cats so consider keeping them in pairs. They do very well with children, although they do need gentle handling.
