Planning a wedding, and all the events leading up to the big day are things every newly engaged woman looks forward to. Bride-to-be, Sheila Brosnanwoke is no different except for the fact that she had to postpone her wedding due to COVID-19.

Sheila and her fiance Terence Gavin were left with no other option than to push back their June wedding to November in order to keep everyone safe from the coronavirus. However, that didn’t stop Sheila’s friends from following through on her original bridal shower date, they just had to do it while being socially distant.

After postponing her wedding, Sheila assumed all of her events would be canceled or postponed, so when her bridal shower day came around, she didn’t think much of it but was still pretty sad about the circumstances.
Travis suggested the two take a drive to cheer her up, but unbeknownst to her, he was in on the surprise. When they pulled into a parking lot and Sheila saw her friends in a circle (with 6ft between each of them), she was overwhelmed with joy.

Sheila told GMA, “I think it’s the nicest thing anyone ever has done. I felt really, really loved.” She also said, “It was emotional seeing these faces that I love so much but have not seen in recent weeks.”
The group had a wonderful time together, despite having to stay so far apart.

Despite all the ways the coronavirus has affected Sheila (and her wedding), she told GMA she has been trying to continue to see “the good stuff” and that the shower made her realize “everything is going to be okay because people are good and kind and they take care of each other.”
Now, Sheila hopes to pay the gesture forward to someone else who could use a little cheering up during this quarantine. Help her with her mission to bring a smile to someone’s face by sharing her story with your friends.
