Ken was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma a few years ago and has been receiving treatment since his diagnosis.
However, this year, he lost his insurance coverage with the Screen Actors Guild and, therefore, took to social media to ask for community support.
Ken Hudson was met with an outpouring of love from over a thousand donors, including Steve Carrell, who are fans of his and Home Alone. He surpassed his GoFundMe goal, having raised $9,000 beyond his initial ask of 100k.
Ken’s fans flooded his Instagram with support.
“Sending best wishes for successful treatment and recovery,” said one commenter.
“A friend of mine went through this same surgery, and I pray your surgery and healing process goes as smoothly and successfully,” said another, sharing a personal anecdote.
Steve Carell’s donation to the Home Alone actor just goes to show the power of showing up for others. In just a few weeks, Ken Hudson raised a substantial amount of money for treatment.
Recovery is difficult enough. The actions of many surely relieved Ken’s excess stress.
