Typically, Amanda Fornow likes to keep to herself when shopping at the grocery store. So, when a fellow shopper started to glance over at her more than normal, she was quick to take notice. As she shares in a social media post, she “could tell something was up.” That said, she also “had no idea it would go this way.” After a while, this stranger at the store got up the nerve to approach the woman.

The two of them had never met before. That said, Amanda looked quite familiar to him. It’s common, after all, for someone to be incorrect about spotting someone they know in public. But that wasn’t exactly the case here. Because, in this instance, the man knew for sure Amanda wasn’t the person he knew. Find out why, and why he chose to approach her, in the video below.

Wholesome Interaction With a Stranger at the Grocery Store Leaves This Woman in Tears
Turns out, there was a good reason this man had a hard time not staring at Amanda. She very much resembles his sister who has since passed away. Seeing someone who looks so much like her this close was no doubt an odd yet heartwarming experience. It’s no wonder Amanda felt moved to tears when he told her.
“I wasn’t prepared for the turn this story took. So sweet of you,” someone writes in reply to Amanda’s video, with another adding, “That’s the perfect thing to have said.”
“This happens to me often. I’ve been someone’s daughter, someone else’s wife, and another person’s sister,” a third person shares. “I think it’s not always that you look like that person but that you radiate love.”
What an incredible reminder that even total strangers can have such a huge impact on each other’s lives. This serendipitous interaction is sure to leave a lasting impression on both the man and Amanda.
