If you saw the Disney movie “Enchanted,”you’ll remember the scene when Giselle is transformed from an animated character into a living, breathing human.

Tayla Thomas’s transformation is just like that, except in reverse. During her blind audition on “The Voice Australia,”she sang “Let It Go” from “Frozen.” Close your eyes and you can picture Tayla standing on a snow-covered mountaintop, alone and finally embracing her icy powers.

If you can totally picture Tayla as a Disney princess, you wouldn’t be far off from reality. Up until just last year, Tayla worked as a principal vocalist in Hong Kong Disneyland’s Broadway-style show, “Mickey and the Wondrous Book.”During that two-year stint, she played any number of princesses and princess-like characters, including, of course, Elsa.
Her voice has a near-magical quality as it is, but the swirling snow effect adds a nice touch:

But she knew she could only stay with the company for so long, so she decided to return to Melbourne last summer and forge her own path, with hopes of eventually signing with an agent.
My goal for the whole thing was to really take down the wall and that’s hard for me to do. I feel like it’s so easy to become a character, but it’s even harder to be vulnerable and be yourself.
With such a powerful audition, it wasn’t long before all four judges turned their chairs. And that left just one question: Whose team would she choose?
