This year, third-grade teacher Ms. Delgado decided to prank her students on April Fools’ Day. Working with the school secretary, they set up the prank. The teacher had previously told her students that they could run the class.
When the announcement came over the public address system, she thanked the secretary. Then, she turned to grab her gear and prepared to leave.
As she is loading up her backpack, the kids ask about what is going on. She explains she is leaving early. Once her gear is packed and the pack slung over her shoulder, she says, “So you guys know that I told you you guys can run the class, right?” The kids probably nodded because all you can hear is one faint “yeah” as a verbal response.
Continuing, she explains, “This is it. Please don’t let Mr. Navarres know (he’s the principal). Riley, can you take over?” After that, Ms. Delgado said a quick goodbye and scampered out of the classroom. And just like that, one of the students walked to the front and continued the math lesson! We’re not sure how the teacher ended this prank on her students, but the way the kids took the announcement in stride and didn’t skip a beat is hilarious.
