Graduation is supposed to be a time to celebrate, but one student was feeling bittersweet about walking across the stage without her dad cheering her on. However, a very special encounter with a stranger lifted her spirits! In a video on social media, the young woman shared that she decided to visit her father’s grave right after the ceremony. She was still wearing her cap and gown. That’s when the stranger came up to her and told her something that would touch her heart.

In the clip, the young woman filmed herself kneeling in front of her father’s gravestone. She had placed a beautiful bouquet of flowers on it. Although there were tears in her eyes, she was still smiling. In the text over her footage, she told the story of how a stranger made her feel better after celebrating graduation without her dad.
This woman’s words made a world of difference.
“To the lady who came up to me while I was visiting my dad after graduation and told me he was the loudest up in heaven I hope you know you healed a part of that little girl who wished her dad was there to see her walk that stage,” wrote the young woman.
At the end of the video, the stranger walked into frame in order to give the grieving student a big hug. Commenters were completely moved by the older woman’s wise words. Some even suggested that this sweet encounter was evidence that the graduate’s late father was still looking out for her.
