Teen Completely Breaks Down Seeing Cat Who Went Missing For 6 Long Months

Left image shows a girl getting into a vehicle and seeing a pet carrier on the seat. Right image shows the girl and her mother with the cat who was missing for 6 months they never though would be found.

The first comment on the video we’re about to show you is, “In another episode of crying with strangers.” That should serve as a fair warning to get tissues now before watching the video — probably at least three—because it’s going to be a big, old, ugly, but very happy cry. After staying with her sister for a few days, the teen’s mom was picking her up to go home. As she opens the back door, she sees a cat carrier. Her cat had been missing and not found for six months. At first, the teen thought it was a new kitten in the carrier…

That second, long, primal wail was the girl’s realization that the cat in the carrier was her cat, Zipper. After missing him for six months, her cat was finally home. The girl had a complete meltdown as she pulled the cat from the carrier. So did we while watching it unfold.

Zipper is a well-loved and beautiful tuxedo cat. His teen mom, Ada, was an emotional wreck the day he came home. She and her mom had almost given up hope. A few days before Zipper turned up, they had been discussing the possibility of adopting a new kitten. Now that the missing cat has been found, Ada is reluctant to let him out of her sight.

It is challenging to read through the comments on these, partly because there are so many, but also because other people are sharing their own missing cat stories. Grab the whole box of tissues if you dare wander with the cat-lovers.

Missing Cats They Thought Would Never Be Found

Cats are wondrous creatures. Many missing cats, like Zipper, have been found after several months. One family found their missing cat after almost seven years and 1,500 miles from home! There are two takeaways from this story about Zipper. The first is never to give up hope. Secondly, please have your precious animals microchipped.

TikTok user SmudgeMouth best expressed it with his comment, “That cat isn’t just a cat. That cat is more human to her than probably most people. ‘Pets’ aren’t ‘pets’; they are sentient and family members. I love my babies this much. They have souls.”

Pets are family members. Please share.
