The Most Satisfying Time-Lapse: Watch Bread & Pastries Bake In Seconds

Images show three stages of time-lapse baking of cheesy breadsticks from raw dough to finished, bubbly YUM!

Did you eat yet? If not, you should grab something before watching the most delectable video ever. The past twenty years have given us phenomenal digital photography and photo editing advances. One of the perks is the increased use of time-lapse photography. This technique has brought us sunrise-to-sunset visions of the horizon, the birth of baby birds, the waxing and waning of the moon, and much more. Now, there are time-lapse baking reels that will make you hungry.

Watching time-lapse baking, you can see how a blob of raw dough reacts to the oven’s heat. Baking time is complete in seconds as the butter melts into a loaf. A simple flat blob with slits in the top grows and expands to become a sturdy loaf of bread resembling a crown. It truly is impressive. This is how food porn earned its name.

There is nothing like the smell of fresh bread baking. Walking into Grandma’s house on Thanksgiving Day always meant the house would smell wonderful. While not quite as satisfying, you can “almost” smell the loaves of bread while watching time-lapse baking.

Whether baking Phyllo dough, crescent rolls, a loaf of Italian bread, or a banana-walnut muffin, the result is oddly satisfying — sort of. My eyes like it, but the video left my belly wanting all the bread! The melty, cheesy breadstick things? I need a recipe for those because they look scrumptious! Watching the dough expand slightly was satisfying, but when that cheese bubbled up in the center of each section? Drool!
