The Vatican Shares A Hopeful Update On Pope Francis

Pope Francis Update

The Vatican released a brief communication about the Pope’s battle with pneumonia on March 4, sharing that he has had no further episodes of acute respiratory failure, and he is no longer on a ventilator. Instead, he is getting supplemental oxygen through a nasal tube, per ABC.

Per a news release, “The clinical condition of the Holy Father today has remained stable. He has not experienced episodes of respiratory failure or bronchospasm. He has remained without a fever, always alert, cooperative with therapies, and oriented. This morning, he transitioned to high-flow oxygen therapy and underwent respiratory physiotherapy. As scheduled, tonight, he will resume non-invasive mechanical ventilation until tomorrow morning. The prognosis remains guarded.”

Pope Francis’ Health Update Brought Many People Relief

Things seemed scary for Pope earlier this week and seeing his condition remained stable, was good news for many.

One wrote, “Most excellent news Wishing Pope Francis a good recovery.”

Some hoped to see a glimpse of the Pope.

“Who else visits Pope Francis besides the Holy See? 3 weekends I’d really appreciate seeing a short video of him. It would help the public to see Pope Francis as many pray for him,” someone wrote.

Another agreed, “How can we not see him or why can’t he send the world a video message ? Seems like it’s worse.”

Pope Francis took to X prior to the Vatican’s update to encourage the faithful to pray. “Let us #PrayTogether that broken families might find the cure for their wounds through forgiveness, rediscovering each other’s gifts, even in their differences.”

A follower shared, “Lord God, who are the Lord of healing, and who deign to mercifully heal our infirmities for those who hope in You, we humbly beseech You to deign to heal Your sick servant (name), whom You have deigned to visit. Look upon him mercifully, we pray, and free him from all pain and infirmity, so that, restored by Your holy grace, he may give thanks to You in all things and proclaim Your glory forever and ever. Amen.”
