The Voice season 27 premiered on February 3. The debut had one of the most incredible performances of the night, and it was also one of the biggest gambles. Adam Levine returned this year after a long hiatus, and one contest welcomed him back in style by performing one of his songs.

South Carolina native Grace-Miller Moody, 20, said before performing, “It definitely makes me nervous to sing in front of Adam Levine.” But she did it anyway, and it paid off with a four-chair turn from The Voice coaches.
Grace-Miller took the stage and began her rendition of Maroon 5’s Sunday Morning. Within seconds, Michael Buble knew he wanted her on his team. John Legend hit his button next, followed by Kelsea Ballerini and the Maroon 5 frontman himself.
Grace-Miller Had To Work For Her Four Chair Turn On “The Voice“
As Kelsea said, “Adam notoriously does not turn for his own songs, so you have broken the code.”
Michael, John, and Kelsea all did their best to woo Grace-Miller to their teams.
John said, “Honestly, all of us feel like we’re at a disadvantage. “It’s been a long time since Adam has been on The Voice, and it’s quite likely very, very rusty. You’ll need someone with more recent experience who understands how it’s been on the show for the last 10 seasons and not how it was way back in the ancient era.”
But in the end, that didn’t seem to matter to Grace-Miller. She came in with Maroon 5 in her heart and left with Adam Levine as her coach.
“I’ve got my first artist,” Adam gloated. “I’m back from a long hiatus, so I’m fresh again. I usually have the four-chair thing. That’s where I thrive. Under that four-chair pressure, there’s nothing like it. Your heart beats fast. Grace has that rasp and all that cool jazzy radness going on. Nothing rusty here. A finely oiled machine.”
