“The Voice”: Mary McAvoy & Michael Alexandersson Took Us Back With Romantic Oldie & We’re Swooning

The Voice Mary McAvoy

While many people think of Snoop Dogg as a rapper, there’s actually much more to his gangster exterior. We’ve seen a much softer side to Snoop in the last few years as he’s emerged as a relatable, lovable guy. Earlier this year, Snoop cheered on Team USA during the Paris Olympics, and now he’s a coach on The Voice. Team Snoop is undoubtedly one to watch, and during the November 4 Battle episode, we saw why. Snoop paired The Voice contestant Mary McAvoy against Michael Alexandersson, but he only had eyes for one of them.

Mary McAvoy and Michael Alexandersson Performed A Classic

During their Battle, Mary and Michael took on the Flamingos I Only Have Eyes For You. As they sang, Snoop vibed along. The other judges seemed equally excited to hear an oldie brought into the mix. In the end, Snoop could only take one contestant through the next round, and his fellow judges helped him to choose.

Reba McEntire advised Snoop to choose Marcy McAvoy because she loved her vocal range and reminded him, “This is The Voice.”

Gwen Stefani chimed in and told both Mary and Michael she loved their performances. While Michael Buble thought Mary could have done more and told Snoop, he’d choose Michael.

In the end, Snoop wants to win this season of The Voice and chose Mary McAvoy to head to the Knockout round.

“Mary gave more during the game,” Snopp said in an off-stage interview.

This fan agreed, “This was almost an even battle for me. Fresh song choice as well! Michael started off really good while Mary started off pretty shaky. Towards the middle and end Michael started to falter while Mary got better and better. I would give the win to her for that reason. She also has that beautiful tone that I love.”

“Great song choice for both of them and nice pairing. Snoop is good! Mary was the winner,” another fan wrote.
