Golden Retrievers are an excellent companion dog breed. They are playful, needy, cuddly, zoomie, and thieving. Lauren loves her golden retriever Charlie, even when he steals food. It can be challenging to stay one step ahead of a silly golden. When Lauren noticed that Charlie had raided a neighbor’s Uber Eats bag, he already had a mouthful.

Like all goldens, Charlie was doing his best “innocent” act. He did try to hide the bread, but it was a sizeable slice. Lauren finally got him to release his stolen treat. Much to his dismay, she tossed it aside for the birds to eat later. She gave Charlie a stern talking-to, reminding the golden retriever that he should not steal food.
Even though Charlie didn’t get to enjoy his stolen snack, he probably got treats when the duo returned home. Lauren has had Charlie since 2023. Charlie and Lauren have formed a very special bond.
Her older dog, Cody, was nearing his final days. Lauren did the hardest thing a dog owner ever does and assisted Cody on his journey over the rainbow bridge. Charlie tries hard to fill the hole left in Lauren’s heart. Lauren keeps the memory of Cody close with pinned videos on her TikTok page.
Lauren has continued posting TikTok videos. In them, we see Charlie grow from a wee little golden retriever pup to a full-grown dog that steals food. Charlie has a few other favorite things he steals, like a glove he found in the snow, a shoe, and his Mom’s scrunchies. Lauren and Charlie have built their relationship around trust and love. He seems like the perfect companion for Lauren as she navigates life.
