Second graders can say some pretty weird things sometimes, and no one knows this better than their teachers! One educator recently shared a hilarious video on social media repeating his pupils’ best quotes from that week, which he had written down. After hearing some of the hysterical things his students have said to him, we’re not sure how Mr. Holmes keeps a straight face in class! You’ll definitely crack a smile when you watch the clip below.

In this video, the teacher read out loud from a list of silly things his second graders said throughout the week. Among them were some pretty sick burns aimed at the educator! For example, when Mr. Holmes revealed his age, one child asked him if he was “alive when they buried Jesus.” How rude!

“Mind you, I’m only 24,” the teacher added.

Another student apparently asked, “Why are you a teacher? My granny said that y’all don’t make no money.”

Some of the other things these second graders said that week were just plain goofy (and a little gross).

“This pencil smells like booty meat,” one child stated.

“I’m about to crash out in this junt,” said another, likely intending to say “joint.”

There are even more hilarious quotes from kids in the comments section!

This second-grade educator’s video has received over four million views. Many commenters responded by sharing some of the strange things their own kids have said to their teachers!

“My daughter told her teacher I wear diapers,” wrote one parent. “I was wearing a period pad.”

Another user said, “My son told the school I was in jail… I went to court to pay a traffic ticket.”

Honestly, one of the best things about working with children is that they have no filter. We’re sure Mr. Holmes has many more great quotes from his students where these came from!
