“Things My Dog Picked Up On From Being Raised By Cats”

Opie is a land seal, also known as a pitty. Aside from being the gentlest pit bull on the planet, Opie may also be a cat in the wrong body. Because the dog was raised in a houseful of cats, he exhibits more cat behaviors than dog traits. He’s also got some of the cutest outfits on the planet!

Opie has many dog friends and siblings, but the cat habits seem to prevail. That includes his ability to sit in judgment of his humans. In fact, he had practiced his judgmental expressions until they were perfect. All animals have some ability for facial expression, but Opie has honed that talent to perfection. It is safe to say that he is not like other pit bulls. What makes Opie a most distinctive dog are the odd traits he learned from the cats that raised him.

One of the most familiar cat traits is how they form themselves into a compact loaf. Dogs tend to sprawl when lying down, but Opie prefers the loaf he learned from his cat siblings. Anyone would have to admit that a big, tough pit bull looks silly scrunched up into a cat loaf.

After being raised by cats, this dog seems to prefer the "loaf" to the more normal sprawl of most dogs.

Along with his preference for the loaf, Opie also prefers teeny-tiny cat beds. He curls himself into a cat ball and squeezes into the cat beds.

Of course, Opie could never be a cat without the ability to loaf upon a perch. He has mastered that skill and has a good start on squashing couch cushions.

We estimate that Opie is approximately 86 percent of the way to becoming a cat. You can follow his progress on TikTok and Instagram.
