Craig Melvin’s barely gotten his seat warm next to Savannah Guthrie on the Today Show, and she’s already branded him for life. Well, kind of. The pair made a friendly bet ahead of the NFC Championship game on January 26 for who they wanted to see in the Super Bowl. Savannah is all about the Philadelphia Eagles, but Craig had his sights set on the Washington Commanders in the final game. Whoever’s team lost would have to be tattooed with the winner’s face. The Eagles bested the Commanders, so Carson Daly lovingly put a tattoo of Savannah, decked in Eagles gear, on the back of Craig Melvin’s neck.

Craig Melvin Wasn’t Thrilled About His New Tattoo
As Carson placed Savannah’s mug on Craig’s neck, he told viewers, “Let this be a lesson. Don’t gamble.”
Savannah, on the other hand, loved every minute of it. Of course, it’s not quite over yet. There is still one game to go. If the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs on February 9, it will be their second Super Bowl win. The first came in 2017. If the Chiefs take it home, they’ll be the first in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowl titles. It’s certainly one to watch.
Some felt like the show hyped up Craig Melvin getting a “tattoo” a bit too much.
An X follower wrote, “It’s a sticker; he got a sticker. Let’s not get it twisted.”
Yes, the tattoo is temporary, but Carson warned Craig Melvin not to get too excited about getting it off. His daughter apparently had one of those suckers on her for six months.
Temporary tattoo or not, Craig seems to be loving his new place on the Today Show, and his cohosts are happy to have him along for the ride.
