“Today” Announces Hoda Kotb’s Final Day As Host

Hoda Kotb

We’ve known since September that Hoda Kotb would leave the Today Show in 2025. Even though it’s been a few months, an exact date for her retirement hasn’t been announced until today. Hoda will officially host for the last time on January 10. After 17 years on Today and nearly 30 with NBC, the 60-year-old mom of two young daughters is ready to call it quits. Hoda became a mom later in life and expressed a desire to spend more time with Haley, 7, and Hope, 5. In order to do that, she had to step away from her career, but she is all smiles about the move.

Fans Will Miss Hoda Kotb

As a long-time fixture on Today, fans love Hoda and her interactions with co-host Jenna Bush Hager. NBC announced Craig Melvin will replace Hoda and co-anchor with Savannah Guthrie during the 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. blocks. Jenna will not be getting a permanent bestie during the fourth hour to replace Hoda. Instead, it will be dubbed Today with Jenna & Friends and will include different guest hosts.

But until it’s time to say goodbye officially, Hoda Kotb wants to go out with a bang.

On January 1, she shared a photo with a huge smile on Instagram, captioned, “Only this energy in 2025! Happy New Year from #HodaandJenna!”

Her exit is bittersweet for fans.

One wrote, “The best duo ever!!! You guys made me get up with positive energy every morning @hodaandjenna Hoda you will be missed. Love you both. Happy 2025.”

Another fan agreed, “Happy Bittersweet New Year!! So excited for Hoda, but still can’t comprehend the withdrawal symptoms to come!”

This person added, “Happy New Year, Hoda and Jenna! We’ll missed you, Hoda! I also gonna miss you too!”

Another chimed in, “HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I’ll miss ya Hoda!!!”
