With over 14,000 reposts, 4,000 comments, and 380,000 likes it is safe to say that this toddler is the the internet’s new favorite person.

Why So Sad?

Why is back-to-school picture day so upsetting? People wanted to know what had this toddler so distraught. His mom, Keishaun Anderson, explained to Good Morning America that her son is not usually like this. She described him as “super outgoing” and claimed he is often smiling and photogenic.

She also claimed that her son loves school and is normally not upset to go, so she was bit surprised at his choice of facial expression. However, Mom had the answers. She claimed that her son just went through another major milestone: getting his first haircut.

“He had a lot of hair,” she explained. “But it was a bit much to manage and he did not like getting it done. So he got his first haircut. And as you could assume how a child would feel some days, he doesn’t really like it.”

“If he’s more comfortable with his hood on, I’ll let him do it,” Keishaun continued. “I just did not know he was going to keep the hood on for the photo.”

Although Mom was surprised at the outcome of her toddler’s back-to-school photos, she is not upset by them. She admitted she laughed upon first seeing them, and she claims that they will be “a family memory for us.” She added, “These pictures are going to linger around forever. He’s not going to be able to live it down.”
