When you have a toddler, they can be fussy eaters. They might get obsessed with one food or another, and that is all they will eat. For this toddler, his favorite seems to be bananas, although he also eats other foods. No matter what he is doing, he stops immediately when a banana appears. He says, “ba-nan-nuhh,” sounding like a Minion from the “Despicable Me” franchise.

His parents know his Achilles heel. This toddler walks away from toys for a banana, and temper tantrums are halted immediately. Whenever he is presented with the golden fruit, he runs to sit and waits patiently for his adults to peel it, then immediately takes a bite. His eyes seem to sparkle with joy as he devours the sweet treat.
We wondered how closely the toddler resembled the Minions mentioned in the comments under the TikTok video, so we checked. There is some similarity.
Did you notice Little Man’s banana pajamas?
We wonder if his parents have shown him the old Australian TV series “Bananas in Pyjamas.” The series ran from 1992 until 2001 and was geared toward children in his age range. It is still popular on YouTube, so it is possible he’s seen it.
If only it were that easy to get kids fruits all the time! Any parent will agree that there are worse foods for a child to be obsessed with. With my daughter, we had the “Year of Chicken Nuggets:” morning, noon, and night. After that, she would only eat Oscar Mayer Weiners (only the original weiners, NOT the beef ones). Fruits of any kind were off the menu for quite some time.
Please share if your child had a favorite food obsession.
