Super Bowl LIX was a dream come true for the Philadelphia Eagles and their fans. The Birds landed in New Orleans, ready to play and win. The game was a rematch of Super Bowl LVII, when their rival Kanas City Chiefs took home the ring. The Chiefs won again in 2024 and hoped for the first threepeat in NFL history, but it just wasn’t in the cards for the red and gold.

Many speculated, and hoped, quite honestly, that if the Chiefs won the Super Bowl, Travis Kelce would propose to longtime girlfriend, Taylor Swift. Sadly, Travis didn’t seem much like celebrating as he left Caesars Super Dome on Sunday night. The dejected tight end stopped briefly to talk with the media, admitting the Chiefs couldn’t pull it together.

Travis Kelce Said the Super Bowl Was The Team’s Worst Of The Season
Per a post-game interview, Travis was very disappointed. He said, “We haven’t played that bad all year. You don’t lose like that without everything going bad.”
Even though the Chiefs didn’t get on the board until well into the second half, Travis praised his teammates for not giving up despite the tough road ahead.
“This team is gonna fight til the end forever, and you saw that,” he said. “Even with the score late, we were always gonna fight.”
Travis Kelce said Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told the team after the tough Super Bowl loss that it was “going to hurt” and to “let it hurt,” but to “Figure out how to get better because of it.”
The usually smiley Travis told reports to “have a good one” and walked away.
It was a sad night for Chiefs fans, but as Travis said, “Hats off to the Eagles.” They played a heck of a game.
A football fan shared on Twitter, “I don’t care for this guy at all but for sure I respect him a lot more now after seeing this interview.”
