When this mom was having a bad day, she accidentally caught something on camera that totally brightened her mood — her daughter’s first laugh! Originally, Taucha Post was attempting to film herself practicing some “self-regulation” techniques. As a yoga instructor and ADHD coach, she had a few tricks up her sleeve to deal with negative feelings. However, it was her baby’s response to these exercises that finally got Mom out of her funk.

In an adorable clip, Taucha initiated a breathing technique that involved waving her arms in the air and bending over. When this woman’s daughter saw her making these movements, the child couldn’t help but laugh — for the very first time! Mom was so delighted to witness this beautiful milestone, she was laughing along with the little girl within seconds.

“I was miserable,” Taucha admitted in the caption of her post. “I started breath of joy. My daughter laughed with me for the first time. It was pure joy. Now I’m not miserable.”

Not only did this daughter’s first laugh completely improve her mom’s mood, but this special moment has been touching others through social media. One commenter shared that this video absolutely made their day!

“Watching this is pure joy,” they wrote. “I was also miserable and now I’m not miserable anymore.”

Others were inspired by this mom’s idea of filming herself while doing exercises to help her regulate her mood. They also thought it was really cool that she included her baby in that emotionally vulnerable activity.

“I self-regulate this way and have considered recording myself and thought, ‘you will look ridiculous,'” said one person. “I don’t have a child here to remind me that I am, indeed, ridiculous and a delight, too.”

Another joked, “Notes: do silly breathing exercises while cute baby watches.”

Being a mom is hard. Being a human is hard. This video reminds us that it’s ok to do what we need to do to feel better, even if we look a bit silly. In fact, sometimes it’s for the best!
