If you haven’t encountered the phrase “golden retriever husband,” you may have one and not know it. Like their dog counterparts, a golden retriever husband can be needy. In this case, the worried husband wanted a kiss before his wife left for a quick trip to the store on icy roads. Part of that may have been concern for her safety, which is understandable.

The wife came in, ready to go. She kissed each of their kids and then discussed their shopping needs with her husband. As she turned to leave, he asked if she was forgetting something. Confused, she checked her purse and assured him she had everything. He asks about his kiss.

The wife clearly doesn’t understand why he insists on kissing her before she leaves. After all, she’s just running to the store. He’s concerned that something might happen due to the poor road conditions. As the husband discusses the importance of kissing goodbye, their dog strolls into the room. It’s all clear now as the golden retriever dog stands patiently waiting for its goodbye scritches.

The golden retriever husband gets tired of trying to convince his wife. Standing up, he gets more emphatic. She finally relents and moves in for a hug and a kiss. They exchange a quick “I love you,” and she heads for the door. The dog follows her, tail wagging, awaiting the scritches he never got. The unfortunate dog is not as persistent as the husband.

Please share if golden retriever husbands are adorable.
