Like all twins, they may have shared a womb for 9 months, but they’re very different people!

Annie Jo and Effie Rose Scott are newborns, so we can’t say where their differences may lie when they get a little bit older. But the fraternal twins already have a major difference between them: Annie Jo was born in 2022, while Effie Rose arrived in 2023.
Although they were born just six minutes apart, mom Kali Jo Scott of Denton, Texas had actually gone in for a C-section on New Year’s Eve about a week and a half before her due date. The timing couldn’t have been better! Kali Jo came into the world at 11:55 p.m., and her sister arrived at 12:01 a.m. Happy New Year, indeed!
Both babies were healthy and a good weight at 5.5 pounds each. Mom and dad were over the moon.
Kali admits that she and her husband had a running joke about their daughters being born in different years. They couldn’t believe it actually happened, but they think it’s unique and will help her daughters find their own identities. They’re pleased that both Effie Rose and Annie Jo will get to have their own birthdays, now and forever.
“I love it,” Kali Jo said. “I think it is hilarious and just super fun.”
“You always still want to make sure they have their own individual personality and know that they are special and unique,” Kali Jo went on. “So this gets to add to that special and uniqueness that some twins don’t maybe get. One will always get the glitter and confetti of New Year’s Eve and one gets to kick it off with a brand-new year on New Year’s Day.”
Friends of the family are having fun with the birthdates as well.
“Our friends were making fun of us for the tax deduction issue since we only get one tax deduction for last year, but I think that’s just fine,” Kali Jo laughed.
Happy Birthday, beautiful girls! We wish you a lifetime of love, success, and celebrating your own special days – separately, but still together.
