When you’re an Uber driver, you never know who you’ll end up picking up — it might even be a long-lost friend from over 20 years ago! 51-year-old Texas resident Danny Blanton caught the most hilarious footage of the moment he realized his passenger was no stranger. Instead, this man was a dear friend from his past! This adorable clip has been going viral on social media.

In the video, Danny picked up 60-year-old John Johnson, who was on his way to UT (University of Texas) Southwestern Medical Center. Their conversation was captured via dashboard camera. At first, the two men had no idea they knew each other. However, as they spoke about the weather, John knew he recognized the other guy from somewhere.
“What’s your name again?” he asked.
After Danny repeated his name, something clicked for John. He insisted that they’d met before. When the driver turned around, the two instantly recognized one another. Their reunion was way too adorable! Please be aware that there’s some NSFW language in the clip below.
People tells us that the Uber driver and his friend used to work together. In the 1990s, Danny bartended at Phenomenon, a nightclub where John was the head of security. Sadly, they didn’t stay in touch when they stopped being coworkers. However, looking back on their past friendship, both of them had nothing but wonderful things to say about one another!
“He was just nice, laid back, chill, and just probably one of the best people that I’ve ever met,” Danny said of John.
Meanwhile, John said, “Danny was always cool with me. We always enjoyed each other’s company and got along.”
Now that they’d been reunited, they weren’t about to let their chance meeting go to waste. After exchanging information, the rideshare driver and his old friend got to catch up over drinks. Isn’t it incredible that a random Uber ride brought these two buddies back together?
