These measures keep staff and your pet safe during the examination. Although it may look drastic, these measures are necessary to ensure safety.

This all-hands intervention begins with the proper equipment. One vet tech is wearing heavy-duty gloves that extend up over the elbows. This protects her arms from the deadly claws of this little beast. The second tech is carrying a small retaining net. This is handy to corral the little critter so another tech can pick it up. If, by chance, the first two methods fail, the last technician has a net with a long handle. This would allow her to scoop up the spicy tot while remaining out of claw and teeth range.
If you’re laughing, that’s good. Although these extreme precautions were in jest, they are an excellent example of the special equipment available to ensure your pet’s safety. Veterinarian technicians have training to deal with angry or upset animals.
Anyone familiar with tiny kittens who became a jungle gym for them knows how sharp their little claws and teeth can be. This little tyke seems calm in the hands of the vet tech, but that could change in one second. Most kittens can go from calm to super-spicy in less than one-tenth of a second. It doesn’t hurt if the staff at the vet hospital prepares for the worst-case scenario.
A tiny kitten can be an extremely vicious animal, and precautions are necessary, even when they seem slightly over-dramatic. We all know where that thermometer goes!
Please share this vet hospital silliness.
