When Tracey Monique posted a video of herself enjoying a football game on a cool evening, that is what everyone saw. The viral video shows a woman sitting in the stands with steam rolling off her head in visible waves.

You can find the original post here. The video was taken and posted on October 29. In the background, a friend teases Tracey about the hot flashes while Tracey laughs along with the good-natured jeers. All she wanted at that moment was to eat her stadium food and watch the game.
Tracey is completely (and beautifully) bald due to alopecia. She admits she is having a hot flash as a result of menopause or perimenopause. The steam rolling off her head is a wake-up call to everyone who thought their mom was joking. One commenter posted, “I gotta call my mom and apologize for making fun of her.” Tracey has been responding to as many comments as possible, and she answered, “Please do,” about calling Mom to apologize.
Another commenter posted, “This should be in the menopausal handbook, so they know what we’re going through!” Unfortunately, there is no menopausal handbook. Many men don’t believe women about the severity of hot flashes. For the men in your life, please show them this video of steam pouring off Tracey’s head.
According to a 2021 study at the University of California, hot flashes are the result of dropping hormone levels. The drops disrupt the body’s thermostat (the hypothalamus). This video visually shows a hot flash, and women everywhere are rejoicing about finally having proof.
