Virginia Sharp isn’t one to give up on her dreams, especially not after making them come true.

She always saw herself working in the fashion industry, but ended up becoming a nurse instead. Still, throughout her 30-year career, she never let go of her passion. And when the novel coronavirus pandemic threatened her newfound livelihood, she didn’t lose hope – she just got creative.
Six years ago, Virginia finally saw her dream come true when she opened Daemarii’s Unique Boutique in Macon, Georgia. This year, shelter-in-place orders forced Virginia to close her shop’s doors. She knew she’d have to think fast to save her beloved business. So, she came up with a brilliant idea to encourage online sales: virtual fashion shows!
Virginia began streaming each Friday night on Facebook Live, modeling outfits for sale with a different theme every week. She has hosted a “white party,” a “girl’s camping trip,” a “yacht party,” and even a coffee shop-themed stream featuring black, cream, and sugar-colored clothing. And her customers can’t get enough!
Not only have these streams boosted business, but they’ve brought in new customers from all over the country!
“We’ve had customers now tune in from Chicago, New York, Maryland, Florida, I’m sending packages all over, Alaska, it’s exciting now just to see what we’re gonna do next,” Virginia said.
She’s also thrilled to be spreading joy during this difficult time.
“Try to change the mindset of what all is going on right now on a negative basis to a little bit of a positive, you know, make people smile,” Virginia added.
Virginia has since reopened the shop, but promises to continue her streams. After all, she has a blast doing them – as do her viewers! Great job, Virginia! We’re so happy you can continue doing what you love.
Learn more about how Virginia saved her business in the video below, and share to spread the word to more potential customers! If you’re interested in the fashion shows, make sure to tune in on Fridays at 7 p.m.
