One dad was pulling out of the driveway in his car when his son came running up to ask for one more thing before he left: a hug! In the most adorable video you’ll see all day, the young boy rushed out of the house to get one more embrace from his father before the man drove away. He started yelling, “Wait up!” and waving his arms around to get his dad’s attention. Once the car stopped, the boy made his sweet request.

“Can I get a hug before you go?” the child asked.

Obviously, Dad couldn’t say no to a hug! He immediately got out of the car and walked over to where his son was waiting in the driveway. Then, he picked the boy up in an epic bear hug, lifting the child’s feet off the ground. He held his kid for a while before letting him go with a loving kiss on the cheek. Is that a wholesome fatherhood moment or what?

Best. Dad. Ever.

Mom Dee Lavigne posted the sweetest footage of the hug on social media. As vloggers, she and her family often post about their everyday lives. This was one video that was way too cute note to share! Commenters were so moved by this loving interaction between father and son. Many were especially impressed with the dad’s response to his son’s request for a hug. Even though the man was clearly on his way somewhere, he still made the time to give his child the affection he deserved.

“Dad didn’t hesitate to stop the car and accommodate his son,” wrote one user. “That hug could have been what was needed to change the course of their day.”

Another added, “Doing fatherhood the right way! Trust me when I say, never let a chance to hug your loved ones one more time slip away.”

This is such a great reminder to all of us. Don’t ever take your family’s love for granted!
