How Many Teeny-Tiny Kittens Can Fit Inside A Watering Can?

4 cats featured image

Cats love nothing more than sneaking away into little nooks and crannies, from your standard cardboard box to more bizarre hidey holes, like bottles, milk jugs, and your odd kitchen appliance.

But why? Only a cat could tell you, but since they can’t, experts have a couple different theories. Small spaces provide a sense of security, since the smaller the space, the less likely they are to get ambushed. Plus, small spaces help them stay warm, and maybe they just like the tactile sensation of being surrounded on all sides. After all, we all love hugs.

Exhibit 1:

Their flexible spines make it a cinch to fit into random objects that you’d never even consider for a little hideaway. Five kittens were snug as peas in a pod in the watering can above. Five!

But even adult cats like to get away from it all every now and then, and they somehow manage to curl up inside these metal and plastic containers and make it look comfortable.

Just trying to catch up on our beauty sleep. Wake us up when it’s time for dinner, yeah?

The irony that these cans are used to hold the one thing cats hate the most, water, will escape no one.

Fortunately, this black beauty had the foresight to investigate (or maybe just tipped it over first) before jumping inside:

Now what could possibly be making all this racket?

Kittens, of course, are most famously known for getting a little rowdy with their siblings. And no story about cats and watering cans would be complete without a short video of them roughhousing and otherwise honing their hunting skills. So we’ll conclude with this adorable clip from YouTuber TheAetherBros:

This just goes to show that there’s no better surprise than picking up a watering can to go tend to the garden, only to find it suspiciously heavy. But when you peer inside you find your fuzzy buddy’s eyes gazing back up at you!
