According to Newsweek, this cat’s lost and found journey began last July. Amy and her family were traveling, so a friend of theirs was pet-sitting the kitty and her canine siblings. Unfortunately, this woman asked her sister to stand in for her one evening. During that time, Arlo somehow managed to escape!

The feline’s family was devastated when they learned what had happened. Amy’s daughter immediately reached out to the neighborhood via Facebook, hoping that someone would see the kitty around. As it turns out, plenty of people technically “found” the lost cat, but none were able to apprehend him! Meanwhile, his loved ones were getting very concerned.

“We would get our hopes up when he was seen, and then a few days would go by, and we would get very worried if it was very hot out or if we heard other animals in the distance such as coyotes,” Amy said.

Everyone was overjoyed when this cat came home!

Eventually, Arlo’s owners were able to lure him into a trap with tuna. Although the cat had lost a lot of weight, his family was relieved to have found him alive and unharmed! Amy caught the most beautiful footage of their reunion with the missing kitty. Her daughter cried when she saw him!
