No matter how well-behaved your dog is, there’s good reason to be cautious when adding a new furry friend to the family.

Maria has been sharing adorable pictures of her pit bull Wesley on Instagram since she first brought him home. So when she adopted a kitten named Wyatt, she figured she should document their relationship from the start!

At first, Maria was concerned her two pets wouldn’t get along, but it didn’t take long before that fear went out the window. Once they got used to one another, they began to bond, and now they’re practically inseparable!

Their friendship started off with playtime. Even though Wyatt can get a little rough when he nibbles on Wesley’s ears, the big dog is incredibly patient and adores his tiny pal.

Not only do they play off each other, but they’ve also developed some human characteristics that crack Maria up! Wesley’s face, for example, is naturally expressive.

“He’s like a cartoon character,” Maria told The Dodo. “You can always tell what he’s thinking.”

As for Wyatt, he has some strange but adorable habits too. Whenever he and Wesley cuddle, the cat’s purr is so loud it could wake the neighbors!

“I think I was just drawn to both of them, because of their odd characteristics,” Maria said. “And I think that’s also why they get along so well. They’re both such special souls.”

Even better, their mom explained that Wesley basically raised Wyatt. It’s no wonder he acts more like a dog than a cat sometimes!

One thing is absolutely clear: Maria made the right choice by getting Wesley his very own kitten sibling. Their bromance is legendary!

Watch Wyatt and Wesley hanging out together in the video below, and don’t forget to share this story to make someone smile.
