We love Wheel of Fortune and are almost always impressed by contestants who can solve puzzles with just a few letters on the board. Some players have an incredible way of racking up cash and prizes and walking away huge winners. Unfortunately, some players seem to have the puzzle handed to them on a silver platter, and they still fumble in front of millions of viewers. This was the case on December 30 when Gaelyn Nease ended the year with a hilarious mistake that many wondered what went wrong. This is just the most recent Wheel of Fortune missolve with viewers shaking their heads. Several contestants have made embarrassing mistakes lately, but this one took the cheesecake.

The “Wheel Of Fortune” Contests Confused Cheesesteak & Cheesecake
Gaelyn saw “Ne_ _or_ _heese_a_e” and was certain she knew what it was. She told Ryan she wanted to solve it and confidently said, “New York Cheesesteak.” Of course, the answer was New York Cheesecake, and Gaelyn lost the round and won a lot of ribbing online.
A viewer posted a clip on X dubbing it, “A new all-time horrible answer.”
X users agreed and couldn’t believe a Wheel of Fortune contestant became that confused.
One wrote, “I was watching. Worst I’ve ever seen ‘live’ on TV. What a nerd.”
This person still thinks this answer was worse, “I remember years ago the answer was ‘A Group of Well Wishers’ and the solution one contestant gave was ‘A Group of Pill Pushers.’ Cringe and hilarious.”
And there was also this recent blunder that had fans stunned, “Still not worse than ‘Treat yourself a round of sausage.'”
“I knew this would end up making the rounds. Oooooooof!!!”
But this person gave the Wheel of Fortune contestant a bit of grace, “I’ve heard of cheesecake, and I’ve heard of New York, but I’ve never heard of ‘New York Cheesecake.'”
