When Daughter Wins Class President, Dad Appoints Himself Secret Service

View from inside a car. A man in a suit opens the car door, smiling. He's also wearing sunglasses. He opens the door for a little girl who is smiling wide as she laughs.

You never know what will spark a new goal in life. For Lydia Diaz’s two kids, one of these pivotal moments took place when they watched a Disney show called Diary of a Future President. At the time, these little girls were in 2nd and 3rd grade. In seeing the main character run for class president, they decided they wanted to do that one day as well. Four years later, and they both did just that.

Luckily, both girls came out as victors! While the eldest earned the role of president, her younger sister snagged the title of vice president in her own grade. To help celebrate, Mom and Dad found a creatively fitting way to pick her up from school. How? By acting as her secret service! Check out this delightful moment in the video below.

“They had to campaign, gather teacher recommendation letters, deliver a speech in front of the whole school during an assembly, and present a slideshow outlining their platform,” Lydia shares in a post. “They put in the work and the student body responded by electing them as school President & Vice-President today!”

As if Dad acting like the secret service isn’t enough, he also made sure to don a suit. That way, he truly fits the part. Best of all, though, they loudly blast the song every president of the U.S. has been introduced to at some point: Hail to the Chief. Sure, this newly elected president is just a bit embarrassed, but you can tell she’s also loving the support.

“Ben and I are so incredibly proud of them for stretching themselves and reaching this goal that they set for themselves YEARS ago!” Lydia’s post concludes.
