Alex and Andy is more than just a clothing company with cute T-shirt designs. Sophie Wyrick started this small business after her uncle Andy experienced a stroke in 2020. When she saw how much her relative was struggling to regain his speech and movement, she knew she wanted to help. So, she came up with an incredible way to keep her uncle active while also raising money for stroke victims. Andy now designs and packages his own t-shirts!

Now, you’re probably wondering, who is Alex? He’s Andy’s dog. Sophie explains on the company website that she fostered Alex while his owner recovered from his stroke. Uncle Andy’s unique bond with his pet was partially what inspired the young woman to start the business in the first place.
Sadly, Sophie revealed on TikTok that her uncle hasn’t been getting as many customers as she’d like. The fewer orders Alex and Andy receives, the less there is for the stroke victim to do. She ended the post with an appeal to her audience.
“When you support small businesses, you support people with dreams like Uncle Andy and myself,” she wrote.
TikTok users came through for Sophie and her uncle in the sweetest way! So many supporters in the comments promised to place an order from Alex and Andy.
