Even the most magical place on Earth has mishaps every once in a while. One Monday evening, Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom experienced quite a power outage. While the cause has not been shared, it was powerful enough to close 18 of their rides. To paint a better picture, that is nearly half of their attractions. You can imagine, then, just how disappointed guests were over this outage.

Luckily, folks who were on rides at the time of the outage were promptly escorted to safety. But once everyone was safe, what was there to do? Not much. And yet, thanks to the quick thinking of some clever Disney cast members, guests in at least one area of the park were entertained with an impromptu show. Catch a glimpse for yourself in the video below!

Sure, these cast members did not have much to work with in order to put on a compelling show. But they did have scripts, tape to make an outline of a boat, and each other! What could be more magical than that?
“I’m so SAD I wasn’t working last night, all my coworkers where talking about it this morning,” a fellow Disney cast member admits in the comment section, with another person adding, “Said it once and I’ll say it again, the parks are nothing without the cast members. They’re the ones that bring the magic to life.”
When Walt Disney World Experiences a Power Outage, These Caring Cast Members Get Creative
Like many others, you may be wondering: What books were the cast members holding? Was Disney World prepared for a moment exactly like this one? According to multiple commenters, they were using guest assistance packets. They include dialogue from rides so guests who can’t hear them are able to know what is being said!
“Now that’s what I call Disney magic,” someone writes, perfectly summarizing this situation.
