Everybody loves birthday cakes, except when they don’t. There are a million different ways to have a birthday cake. When your special day comes around, everyone asks what kind of cake you want. Some people like white cakes with chocolate frosting or chocolate cakes with buttercream frosting. There are double-layer or single-layer cakes, and even cakes shaped like a dinosaur. But if you’re two years old and you don’t like cake? Well, your parents get you what you like. That is how this little boy ended up with a rotisserie chicken cake.

A rotisserie chicken cake? Is it a chicken-shaped cake or a chicken? For little Luke, it was a real rotisserie chicken. His parents put two candles into the fleshy breast meat, lit them, and sang Happy Birthday. A male (probably dad?) added the words “chop chop chop” between the usual verses.
Luke seemed confused about the candles. It was only his second birthday, and he probably doesn’t remember much about his first birthday. Kids are either blessed or cursed with social media. For older generations, there are no pictures from many of those early birthdays. Luke’s parents will probably share this video with the yearbook committee when he is a senior in high school.
Seriously, though, kudos to Luke’s parents for being adaptable. The willingness to switch things up based on his likes and dislikes is commendable. Kids don’t always know what is best for themselves, but they do know what they like and don’t like. Just because “everyone” has a cake for their birthday doesn’t mean that Luke needs one. He seems overjoyed by his rotisserie chicken cake. According to the OP, he devoured it.
Please share if you giggled.
