There’s a sweet parenting trend going around social media, and it involves a slight role reversal. Some grown-ups are laying down their heads in their babies’ laps to see how the children will react. Usually, the results are too precious for words! One mom captured a particularly lovely moment with her little one while filming her video.

In the darling clip, the woman and her baby were sitting on the floor when she gently rested her head on the child’s lap. This little girl looked positively delighted with the arrangement, immediately bursting into the biggest smile ever! Next, she started playing with her mother’s face, patting it with her hands as though it were a drum. Mom looked truly blissful during this beautiful bonding moment with her daughter, even if she did flinch a few times.
This video has already received over 19 million views! Commenters couldn’t believe how adorable this small girl was. Some thought it was pretty funny to see the baby lovingly smacking her mom’s face while the woman’s head was in her lap.
“This is the cutest most happy baby I’ve ever seen,” wrote on user.
Another joked, “I love how baby affection is so… violent.”
Of course, not every parent who has tried putting their head in their baby’s lap has gotten quite the reaction they hoped for. While there are plenty of positively heartwarming videos within this trend, some grown-ups have struck out!
In one hilarious clip, a mom was expecting to capture a cute moment with her daughter. However, this baby girl wouldn’t sit still long enough for the woman to put her head in the child’s lap. At one point, the toddler started painfully pulling her mother’s hair!
After multiple failed attempts, Mom finally got to lay her head on her baby’s lap… for a few seconds. Almost immediately, the child started pushing the woman away from her. Then, she wriggled out from under her mother’s head and crawled right over her face to get free!
If there’s one thing this social media trend teaches us, it’s that every kid has their own unique way of expressing affection. Also, some babies are more cuddly than others!
