One woman is telling the wholesome story of how she randomly met one of her best friends, and it’s totally melting our hearts! In a sweet video on social media, 23-year-old Maddy Sue Hull shared that she’d really been wanting to make more friends. She never imagined that she’d get her wish during a routine trip to the gas station! However, that’s exactly where she hit it off with 76-year-old Kathy. They’ve been inseparable ever since!

What’s even more incredible about this chance meeting is that, just the day before, Maddy Sue had been praying for something like this to happen.
“One day you’re asking God for more friends and the next day you meet a 76 y/o woman at the gas station and now you see each other multiple times a week, go on lunch dates, and are best friends,” the young woman wrote in her social media post.
As it turns out, meeting Maddy was just as much of a godsend for the elderly woman. As the 23-year-old wrote in the caption of her video, Kathy was really struggling after losing her husband.
“She had been praying for more purpose in her life,” Maddy wrote. “She doesn’t have any kids and her husband passed away 14 years ago and had been unsure of why she’s still here.”
How wholesome is it that these two lonely women from different generations ended up becoming best friends through a chance meeting?

At some point, Maddy found out that her bestie couldn’t afford the new adjustable bed she needed. So, she quickly organized a GoFundMe to help her out. After all, what are friends for? Thankfully, the young woman shared in the comments section of her video that she was able to raise enough money for Kathy to buy a bed. However, she has decided to keep the GoFundMe active in case people want to contribute to any of the elderly lady’s other needs.
This just goes to show that, where friendship is concerned, age really is just a number. Maddy and Kathy are certainly lucky to have found each other!
