Most dog owners already know that their four-legged friends love them back, but one woman just received proof beyond a shadow of a doubt! In a precious video on social media, this pet parent was hanging out with her pooch, Lex, when she felt the need to tell the animal how much she loved her. Not only did Lex seem to understand, but she found the most beautiful way of saying, “I love you,” in return! This clip is a heart-melting reminder that we truly don’t deserve dogs.

In the absolutely adorable video, Mom and Lex were sitting together in the car when the woman asked a very important question.
“Did you know you’re my best friend?” she inquired.
Obviously, Lex didn’t answer, so Mom continued.
“I love you,” she said. “I love you with all my heart.”
We’re not sure if this pup comprehended the exact meaning of these words, but she definitely got the general idea! Once Mom told the dog that she loved her, Lex began pawing at the woman and whining. It was almost as if she wanted to say, “I love you,” back, but didn’t quite know how! Eventually, she simply started to howl at the top of her lungs.
Apparently, this was close enough, because Mom completely understood what her pooch was trying to say.
“I’m your best friend, too,” she translated.
Commenters loved watching this sweet moment between Lex and her owner. However, one user suggested that actions might speak louder than words!
“He says Love is an action word ma’am go get him a pup cup on camera so we believe it,” they wrote, guessing that Lex was a male.
In a follow-up video, the pet parent did just that! It looks like the pup really enjoyed her special treat.
If we’ve learned anything from watching Lex and her owner, it’s that you don’t have to speak the same language to tell someone how much they mean to you. There are so many different ways to say, “I love you!”
