It’s very rare for people to actually know when they’ll go viral. When Makayla posted a video of her and her dog, Grissom, she certainly didn’t expect it to have the impact that it has had on others. It all started when her Golden Retriever really, really wanted her hood. Seriously, it seems that absolutely nothing could get in the way of Grissom’s goal to take Mom’s hood away from her. But what started out as a frustrating moment turned into an unforgettably hilarious one.
The more that Makayla tried to get out of Grissom’s grasp, the more he held on tight. Finally, she gave up. The result? Makayla found herself laying on her back, on her deck, laughing hysterically. Amidst the joy that this video brought others, Makayla was seriously struggling. In fact, these struggles are what made this moment with her dog all-the-more difficult to deal with. “The amount of hate comments I have received over the years have meant nothing in comparison to the number of heartfelt messages I have received,” Makayla shares. “Saying this video is their favorite on the internet; the one they save and rewatch when they are having a bad day.”
It goes to show, you never know when or how you’ll be able to have a positive impact on others.
“I just wanted to share the greatest laugh of my life with the rest of the world,” her post continues. “And I’m glad I did because it seems like this was the greatest laugh of some of your lives, too.”
