It’s often said that when you meet the love of your life, you’ll simply know it. While this is at least a bit true, not everyone can identify “the one” so quickly. KC Davis, on the other hand, knew after three weeks. Okay, so maybe knew isn’t the most accurate word. She was confident enough, however, that she went ahead and bought a $100 wedding dress.

As wild as it was for her to make that purchase, in her defense, a wedding dress on sale for $100 is an incredible steal. Plus, she didn’t intend on telling her boyfriend about the purchase — not until they got engaged one day, should that ever happen. But the reason behind doing it in the first place? In her own words, “if it works out, this will be such a cute story, and if it doesn’t, I’ll never tell anyone.”

Overall, KC had a pretty solid plan. Plus, she got a sign that things were heading in the right direction just a week later. Her boyfriend’s brother was getting married on the other side of the country, and she was invited! But just when thing were looking up, her boyfriend shared over dinner one night: “I told my mom about the dress.”
This Impromptu $100 Wedding Dress Purchase Leads to a Wildly Unexpected Story
Understandably panicked, KC asks how he knew about that. He claimed she told him, but KC was so certain that didn’t happen. Even more surprisingly, her boyfriend simply smiled and said, “Don’t worry, I think it’s cute.”

“You don’t think I’m insane?” KC recalls asking. When her boyfriend doesn’t understand why he’d think that, she adds, “Because buying a wedding dress after dating someone for three weeks is a little nuts.”
His response? “YOU BOUGHT A WEDDING DRESS?!”
So, turns out, KC had told him about the dress she bought for his brother’s wedding… not the $100 wedding dress. The amount of anxiety running through KC’s body at that moment must have been unreal. Luckily for her, though, her boyfriend found it funny, poking fun with “this is so embarrassing for you.” Best of all, he also added, “I don’t think I’ve ever been more flattered.”

You may be thinking, “Oh, he was just being nice.” But here’s where the story gets romantic comedy level good: Now, the two of them really are married! It goes to show, you never know what the future will hold…
“Listen,” KC writes in her social media post, “I have never claimed to be all that sane.”
