The night before her 19th birthday, Kalista Hesch of San Antonio, Texas, invited her little sister over for a sleepover.

Worthy Rigelsky is an adorable 11-year-old with Down syndrome. Kalista’s family adopted her from China when she was just 5 days old, and ever since then, the two sisters have been inseparable!
Kalista and Worthy have a mutual love of TikTok, so they decided to make a few videos during their girls’ night in. Kalista, who loves doing makeup tutorials, decided to let her little sister do her hair, a skill Worthy picked up by observing her sisters and her mom. Of course, for safety’s sake, Kalista made sure the various curling irons and straighteners Worthy was using were unplugged.
“When it comes to Worthy’s skills, they honestly just come to her naturally,” Kalista told GMA. “She is so smart and so attentive, so she just watched our momma and I doing our hair and makeup and wanted to do the same! She’s a natural!”
The siblings uploaded a few short videos to TikTok and went to bed. The next morning on Kalista’s birthday, they were shocked to find that Worthy’s hairstyling expertise had gone viral. One of the posts had over a million views!
“I put on a song and she was just standing behind me and she was just fixing my shirt and adjusting my necklace and went like this to my hair and everyone just flipped out,” Kalista told People. “She’s just such a little perfectionist, she just wants to fix you up, and make sure everything’s OK and every little detail’s perfect.”
The sisters were so encouraged by their newfound internet fame that they started making more videos, racking up millions of views with their simple, sweet content.
Many of their fans say they find the videos relaxing. Kalista maintains that they are popular because people like seeing the sisters hanging out together, but mostly because “Worthy is joy.”
“On a platform such as TikTok where every other swipe is hate or opposition, people get to pause on our page to breathe and experience the joy that is Worthy,” the proud big sister added.
While Kalista said Worthy “has her moments” like anyone else, overall she’s a precious little girl with a sassy streak that makes her irresistible.
“I would not trade my relationship with Worthy for the entire world. She is so kind, and to me she is the closest thing to perfection in this world,” Kalista said.
If our family did not adopt her, she could be anywhere in this world, but she is with us and I could not be happier. Worthy is worthy of being loved, she is worthy of having a family, she is worthy of all the good things this life has to offer her. I love her so much and I can honestly say other than my awesome husband, Worthy is my best friend.”
Now that’s a great birthday present! The sisters have been putting out wholesome videos for the past few months, and they have no plans to stop. What a nice break from all the negativity in the world!
