You’ll Never Guess What Happens When You Stick Your Head Inside This Hanging Abstract Artwork

A large, grey sculpture hanging from the ceiling.

Every artist metaphorically puts a part of themselves into their artwork, but this abstract piece requires viewers to literally put their own heads inside! A creator on social media poasted a mesmerizing video about one of her most intriguing installations. First, she filmed her hanging sculpture from the outside. Then, she shared a sneak peek of what was hiding inside. It was pretty unexpected!

At a first glance, this structure looked like a large, grey mass suspended in mid-air. It was dark and craggy, bringing to mind a huge boulder or piece of volcanic rock. However, underneath this mysterious artwork was a hole where viewers could put their head inside. When the camera ducked beneath the sculpture and into the opening, it was like entering a whole other world!

Step inside a truly enchanting art installation.

Within the artwork was a scene straight out of a fairytale forest. Lush and magical, this enclosed landscape was scattered with cherry-red toadstools and trails of glowing lights. What a stark contrast from this sculpture’s barren, stony exterior!

“POV: you put your head inside an abstract hanging structure,” read the text over the footage of the artwork.

Commenters had some truly poetic takes on this creative installation after watching the artist’s video.

“The coolest part is that you can only experience it alone,” wrote one user. “So rare at an art museum.”

Another said, “Like an asteroid full of life, drifting through space.”

In a different video, the artist shared footage of guests putting their heads inside her hanging artwork. Her caption revealed that this sculpture was an assignment for school.

“My final project for my first year in uni as a fine art student,” she wrote.

We hope she got an A on this project for coming up with such a unique way of getting people to interact with her piece!
