Most of us would agree that it’s important to be kind to others. But how many of us actually go out of our way to show kindness by helping others? Understandably, it can be easy to get so caught up in our own lives, we don’t notice the ways we can have a positive impact on others. But once you start to look for these opportunities, it gets much easier. Take, for example, the young man in the viral video below.

His mom, Tina, is the one who shared this moment on social media. According to Mom, just as the young man was leaving the house, an elderly neighbor caught his attention. She was taking out her trash, and it was clear just how much she was struggling. Still, with the trash in one hand and her cane in the other, she remained determined. That said, in the end, she didn’t have to do this tiresome chore all alone.

Young Man Goes Above and Beyond to Make Elderly Neighbor’s Day Easier
Before this sweet woman can get to the end of her driveway, the young man comes to her rescue. To top it all off, he doesn’t end with the trash. While he’s at the end of the driveway, he also takes the time to check her mail. Needless to say, this small act of kindness made a world of difference in this elderly woman’s life.
Plus, this single act of kindness is inspiring others to do the same. That’s what is so cool about heartwarming videos like these — kindness has been proven to have a ripple effect.
“Little things mean the most. Kindness doesn’t cost a thing,” someone points out in reply to Tina’s video, with another adding, “Be proud momma you raised him the right way! Need more like him in this crazy world!”
“Our son took care of our elderly neighbor for many years while he was growing up,” a third person writes, sharing their own story of kindness, “and when she sold her house across the street from ours, she only would sell it to our son! Now he lives across the street.”
